Economic Overview
The “Great Recession,” as the contraction of the economy that began in December 2007 was called, is said to have ended in June 2009, according to the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). But to many working Americans and corporate citizens, the affect of the recession is still being felt very strongly today. We take a general look at the U.S. economy – the topic of a major percentage of news articles and a lot of water cooler discussion.

Jobs Overview
While the outlook on the economy has its share of shakiness, the jobs picture appears to be more solidly sunny, according to the nation’s economists and analysts. However, brighter days are only coming after some pretty rough weather. According to a March 23 report by the Kauffman Foundation, the job creation rate during the Great Recession was lower than it had been in 29 years – and the country netted a 5.7 million job loss in the period from March 2008 to March 2009. Today, there are quite a few positive indicators to keep us optimistic.
