January Jobs Report
According to the latest Economic Situation Summary, the U.S. unemployment rate fell by 2% in January to 8.3%. Nonfarm payroll rose by 243,000 jobs, with the following industries seeing the largest increase in jobs: professional and business services (+70,000), manufacturing (+50,000), leisure and hospitality (+44,000), and health care (+31,000).
