Safety Rules

The tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut reminds us to make sure our workplaces are as safe as possible. Check out the following safety precautions to follow to ensure the safety and security of your employees:

  • Always be aware of your surroundings and of people who may exhibit unusual or suspicious behavior.
  • Avoid conflict and confrontation. A quiet tone of voice and sensible body language can be very disarming.
  • Develop a system to call for help.
  • Determine escape procedures and routes for employees to follow in the event of an emergency.
  • Work to develop a First Aid and CPR program.
  • Avoid being in the office alone during late and/or dark hours.
